What is trauma? Look it up in the dictionary, and you’ll find that it’s “a deeply distressing or disturbing experience.” And you know what? It’s painfully common.
According to the Sidran Institute of Traumatic Stress Education and Advocacy, a mind-boggling 70% of us can lay claim to at least one traumatic event in our lifetime. And right now? That number’s probably far greater given the collective trauma we’ve experienced on a global scale over the last year.
June is Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month and the perfect time to talk about trauma. So, to spread awareness, here are thirteen of our best quotes on the subject.
