Reaching out for help can often be the scariest step in a family’s journey to healing and recovery. Here is what getting help with Youth Dynamics looks like for most families in our services.
The First Steps
Reaching out for help with Youth Dynamics is as easy as picking up the phone and calling 1-877-458-7022 or filling out our contact us form on our website.
Your local area office get in touch with you within 24 to 48 hours. During this time many local Youth Dynamics teams schedule a time to deliver intake paperwork or to have you come to the office to fill the paperwork out. Our team members will meet you where you feel most comfortable: in your home, at our office, in the park, at your child’s school or anywhere else you feel comfortable.
Our initial paperwork is quite easy. You can check it out here. We ask for your basic information and your child’s basic information (name, address, phone number, etc.) The best way to make this part of the process go quickly is to come prepared with your family’s insurance information.
If your child has Medicaid then they can receive all of Youth Dynamics’ services. Do not worry if your family does not have insurance or does not have Medicaid, we don’t turn families away. We have a sliding fee scale for all of our services and children can access many supportive services with private insurance.
The Assessment Process
After your intake paperwork is complete, we will schedule an assessment for your child with one of our highly skilled therapists. Sometimes, intake paperwork and the assessment are completed on the same day, it depends on what will work best with your schedule. This initial assessment is when our team really gets to know you and your child. Our therapist will ask your child questions about how they are feeling, how school is going, their friends, etc. Our therapist will also ask questions about family history, your child’s development, and current symptoms.
After completing your child’s assessment, our therapist will make recommendations about a plan for treating your child’s symptoms. The therapist will recommend services like therapy or therapeutic mentoring for your child. Our therapist will explain each recommendation and how they will support your family. You will have total choice in the services your child receives and the length of time they receive those services.
Over the course of the next few months you and your family will meet the members of your treatment team. This team of professionals will support your child and your family as you work towards healing and recovery. For now take a deep breath and give your self a pat on the back. You successfully reached out to help for your child!
