This month we would like to recognize Ashley Santos for her exemplary service to the YDI Mission, her team, and youth at our Boulder AYA campus. Ashley goes above and beyond daily to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.
Here is what leadership and Ashley’s teammates had to say in recognition of her:
“Ashley is an amazing and dedicated staff. She is always willing to support our kids and is typically one of the few people that our kids trust. She is straight forward but never harsh, honest, but never critical. She is also excellent when it comes to filling empty shifts and dealing with interpersonal conflicts between staff. She is lighthearted and keeps others’ spirits up when things get tough. Ashley is a valued member of our team. We all depend on her, and we are glad to have her at AYA.” – Kevin Wyse, Clinical Director
“Ashley is a great asset to our AYA team! She is always willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the clients we serve. I consistently hear from the staff she supervises that they appreciate her direct and open communication and support. Ashley is a good sport and is willing to roll with the silly pranks that come her way from her co-workers. Thank you for all that you do each and every day, Ashley!” – Jordan Hinshaw, Associate Clinical Director
“Ashley Santos is an amazing home manager. She goes above and beyond when we are in a staffing crisis to help fill shifts throughout the campus and spends time organizing the AYA calendar and schedule. She works tirelessly with her staff to create new activities for the youth in her homes. She is constantly checking in on her staff to ensure they have everything they need to do wonderful work with the youth we serve. She has fantastic communication with the team here at AYA, with legal guardians, and with the outside agencies we work with. She makes herself available to youth and staff even outside of work hours to help problem solve issues and questions. She works closely with therapists and YCMs while juggling two homes.
Ashley is always checking in with her teammates to make sure everyone is doing well and is utilizing coping skills so that they can be at the top of their game. She always comes in with a can-do attitude and brings humor and joy to our office and group homes daily! She is a positive ray of sunshine that always brings a smile to everyone’s faces. We are very thankful to have her on the AYA team!” – Mandy Haller Doris, Program Manager
“Ashley has had a tough year. Yet she keeps the group home running and is always available to help out. As the therapist for the Choices unit, I could not do my job without her. She is amazing.” – Wendie Vanderwater, Therapist
“I can’t say enough good things about Ashley. She is an amazing person. She is always willing to go out of her way to help the clients and the staff she supervises and works with. Ashley is a great asset to the YDI team! I am just sad I don’t get to work directly with her on a daily basis anymore!” – Stephanie McLane, Human Resource Assistant
“Ashley is great to work with. She is always willing to answer questions that I might have!” – Brooke Bailey, Day Treatment Aide
“Ashley is an amazing team member. I worked with her quite a bit when I was traveling to Boulder. I always appreciated how helpful she was to me. She is an amazing home manager and really cares about the youth in her home. She is a team player and will get in there and work right along with her staff. She is so open to suggestions and doing what is in the best interest of the kiddos in her home. I love her sense of humor and creative holiday decorations. (I am pretty sure there is a holiday doll up there, that she was a big part of creating.) I have seen her overcome tremendous obstacles; Staff shortages, and significant behaviors in her homes. She handled them with eagerness and grace. She truly does exemplify YDI’s values and is a wonderful asset to our organization.
I am happy she is getting the recognition that she deserves! Way to go, Ashley!” – Angie Hildebrand, Associate Clinical Director
“I would like to start by saying Ashley is strong, fearless, and beautiful inside and out. Ashley balances so much on her plate every day, yet she is always there to support those who need her and is one of the first ones there when one of the kids is struggling. She has recently been through so much with her private life, yet she is still here getting it done with a smile on her face (most of the time). Anyone who knows her knows she has such a great sense of humor, which is necessary with her circle of friends here at Boulder AYA. I am honored to say she is a great co-worker, a fabulous mother, a wonderful friend, and above all, a fantastic person.” – Stacey Burton, Administrative Support
“Ashley is the greatest.” – Suzy Williams, Youth Home Counselor
