“I knew I would be okay”

A woman tells her story of healing and resilience in the face of trauma and the caring adults who helped her on her journey.
“I went through a lot of therapists as a kid and I didn’t like any of them to be honest. But there was this one amazing woman I met when I was about 13 or 14 years old and, I’ll have to say, she did not put up with any of the stuff that I threw at her. She really turned my life around. From that day on… I remember the first day I ever met her, the first time I walked into her office, it changed my life. And from that day on I knew that I was going to be okay.”
