New Energy System for Youth Dynamics Saves Upwards of 50% in Electrical Utility Costs

Thirsty Lake Solar (www.thirstylakesolar.com), of Bozeman and Eureka Montana, will install a 15.9 kW net-metered photovoltaic (PV) system at the Lewis & Clark Therapeutic Youth Home, Youth Dynamics’s Helena Therapeutic Youth Home for children diagnosed with a severe emotional disturbance.

The 60-module installation will provide an annual reduction in the electrical utility costs at the LCYH by upwards of 50%. Youth Dynamics will contribute $6,000 through fundraising efforts, TLS $1,000 in labor costs and the balance of $43,000 was awarded by grant through NorthWestern Energy’s “USBC” funding available for non-profits and others providing invaluable community services across Montana.

Installation is scheduled to begin in early May, 2015.
